Traditional coaxial speakers place the tweeter directly in front of the woofer cone, blocking cone output, disturbing time alignment, and creating unwanted resonances that can color the sound. Add basic built-in crossovers and compromised mechanical designs, and the result is often reduced clarity, response irregularities, and less precise imaging.
Unlike conventional coaxials, the Braxial design positions the tweeter off-axis within the cone area—not on the apex—eliminating cone blockage while preserving the mid/woofer’s dust cap for cleaner extended highs and protection against dirt intrusion. This innovative geometry allows the tweeter to acoustically couple with the woofer while enabling true rotational time alignment for remarkably coherent sound.
The Braxial uses the same audiophile-grade soft dome tweeter and rubber-edged Kevlar mid/woofer found in CDT’s renowned component systems, combined with a high-quality external matched crossover network—far beyond the simplistic single-part crossovers used in ordinary coaxials.
Because the tweeter is angled and rotationally adjustable, the Braxial can be aimed during installation to optimize staging and imaging from practical factory speaker locations. The result is a level of installed-system precision that conventional coaxials simply cannot approach.
The interaction between woofer and tweeter is engineered so each driver reinforces the other, creating:
Where conventional coaxials compromise, CDT Audio Braxial delivers a true engineered solution—combining the convenience of a coaxial with the precision, coherence, and musicality of a premium component system.
